REDUCTION OF CUT-OFF MARK – 2025/2026 SESSION!

PRESS RELEASE

In view of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno's declaration of State of Emergency on Health sector, the Akwa Ibom State College of Nursing Sciences, AKSCONS, has made an adjustment to her admission guidelines for the 2025/2026 ND/HND Nursing Sciences.

This adjustment came after an enlarged management meeting recently held in Ikot Ekpene main campus of the college bordering on the review of the previous admission guidelines in response to the Governor's emergency pronouncement.

A release issued by the AKSCONS Provost, Mrs. Ekaette Akan, and signed by the college Registrar, Mr. Philip Eduok, has indicated that the admission cut-off mark hitherto placed at 180 has now been adjusted to 140, whereas the application timeline which commenced Thursday August 14 will be sustained till September 30, 2025 as earlier scheduled.

The release emphasizes that candidates who have scored 140 and above in the 2025 unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), possessed five credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in not more than 2 sittings; and must be 16 years and above by September 30, 2025 stand eligible.

Candidates are strictly advised to apply and also make payments via the college official portal: akscons.edu.ng., and not via any third party.

For easy identification, candidates are to appear with their coloured printed acknowledgement/exam slips after registration for the Post-UTME screening exercise slated for 4th October, 2025 at Aka Community Secondary School, Aka Offot, Uyo, by 7am.

The release further states that only successful applicants will be contacted via email. For more information, kindly visit the college website: www.akscons.edu.ng.

By adjusting her admission cut-off mark from 180 to 140, AKSCONS has demonstrated a commitment to inclusivity as enshrined in the ARISE Agenda, and providing opportunities for a broader range of students to pursue nursing education.

Mr. Philip Eduok, Registrar.
