Dear Students, Faculty, Staff, and Esteemed Visitors,
It is with great honor and joy that I welcome you to the Akwa Ibom State College of Nursing Sciences (AKSCONS) — a beacon of professional excellence, compassionate care, and transformative learning in the field of nursing and midwifery.
As the Provost of this esteemed institution, I am privileged to lead a dedicated academic and administrative community that is shaping the future of healthcare through cutting-edge education and ethical practice. Our journey is rooted in a rich legacy that began in various campuses — some dating as far back as 1946 — with a unified vision brought to life in 2021 when the Akwa Ibom State Government officially established the College through an enabling law.
In 2023, the College commenced full academic operations across five campuses strategically located in Ikot Ekpene, Anua (Uyo), Eket, Ituk Mbang, and Oron, with each campus carrying decades of nursing and midwifery heritage. In 2024, we proudly achieved Provisional Accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), authorizing the commencement of ND and HND Nursing programmes with annual intake via JAMB.
Our mission at AKSCONS is clear — to produce competent, compassionate, and community-responsive nurses and midwives who are globally relevant yet locally grounded. We combine rigorous academic standards with practical, hands-on clinical experience and foster a nurturing environment that empowers each student to reach their full potential.
We are investing heavily in modern infrastructure, digital transformation and robust faculty development. Our campuses are equipped with libraries, laboratories, demonstration rooms, ICT hubs, recreational centers, and serene learning environments that encourage excellence.
